| Library collecting “Food for Fines” for Bridgewater food bank
The Library is again running its "Food for Fines" canned good drive to benefit the Bridgewater Food Bank Network.
Between now and May 9, people who bring a canned or packaged food to the library will get a $1 credit against overdue book fines.
You can have up to $5 deducted from your library bill.
Suggested items include canned meats, Parmalat milk, canned fruits and vegetables (regular and no sugar), spaghetti sauce, canned or boxed pastas, tuna, cookies and crackers, juices, mac 'n cheese, peanut butter and jelly, pork & beans, rice (regular and mixes), soups, snacks, cereal, instant potatoes and stuffing.
Even if you don't have overdue fines, you can donate things from the list.
"We know that faculty and staff do not accrue overdue fines but we are encouraging everyone to participate," said Keely Coffey, library public service associate. "Every little bit helps."
